Peshawar Zalmi has signed a marvelous victory over Quetta Gladiators defeating them by 30 runs at Rawalpindi Stadium on Thursday.
After winning the toss, Quetta opted to bowl first as Moin Khan suggested earlier. He said that he is unimpressed with the team’s performance. As per him, trying to bowl first at a wet pitch might help the side.
Despite changing the strategy, the team has gone for the 30 run defeat as PZ in both the departments got dominated over them.
Earlier today, Wahab Riaz was appointed as the skipper of Zalmi taking over the position from Darren Sammy. Darren Sammy is no more the permanent player of this season but will work on the head coach spot.
It was a must-win game for PZ as they were on the fifth spot on the HBL PSL standings. However, the current title defenders, Gladiators are now on the alarming situation as they have faced a horrendous defeat 4th time in the ongoing season, against Qalandars too.
The game at first was disturbed by the dazzle out there at Rawalpindi and the toss was delayed. In 15 overs, Zalmi rocked with the bat as Gladiators conceded a sound target of 171 to be chased and lost running out of balls at 140.
