As Islamabad United skipper, Shadab Khan won the toss and elected to bowl first on a fresh pitch, the Pindi boys rocked the ground with the bowling techniques restricting Multan Sultan on 164 on the lost of 8 wickets.
Amad Butt did an impressive spell as he took four wickets conceding 27 runs whereas Faheem Ashraf sticked to two wickets conceding 34 runs with not good enough economy and Musa with one.
Shadab being skipper has remained vacant and has fallen short for wickets vs Multan as well. He disappointed the side being wicket-less in the first match against Quetta Gladiators as well.
Although the pitch of Gadaffi stadium has been useful to the spinner in Multan Sultans the last match against Lahore Qalandars as Shahid Afridi, Imran Tahir and Moeen Ali took a bow against their batting line-up, Shadab being the backbone of national squad failed to pick up a single.
On the contrary, the batting line-up of Islamabad United have been destructive, as the openers Luke Ronchi and Colin Munro went for the fifties. Ronchi dragged his score to 74 on 54. Dawid Malan added another 35* on 21 balls.
Zeeshan Ashraf from Sultans have been tremendous from his side scoring 50 on 29 along with Vince chasing 42 on 31. Sultan’s bowling line-up was not as impressive as they could only take two wickets of their opponents.
United made an impressive come back as they have lost the previous one against Gladiators and Multan Sultan after winning one have lost the second.
