Wasim Khan, the CEO of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), has disclosed that the probability is to drift Pakistan Super League (PSL) ahead rather than giving the trophy to the table toppers.
PSL 5 was called-off indefinitely due to the Coronavirus pandemic globally. Along with PSL, sports in the whole of the world were affected adversely. The new window to reschedule PSL was still to be revealed but, Coronavirus situations were worsened.
Previously, few of the PSL matches were also held behind closed doors. The league was only remaining with three matches; two semi-finals and one final. Multan Sultans were way better than other teams and were on the first spot.
Previously, PCB authorities were talking about handing over the trophy to Sultans. The idea however has been neglected by many officials saying that the real war happens in the ground.
Wasim Khan also is against the idea of crowning Multan Sultans and has denounced the obvious chances of dragging PSL ahead.
While talking to ESPNcricinfo, Wasim Khan presenting views of PCB said,
“We’re currently looking at when we can reschedule the remaining matches to be played, and we’re confident we’ll get those done at the back end of the year, subject to obviously all things going well,” Khan said.
It can definitely be not fair with the other five franchises by crowning Sultans. Other too have the potential for magnificent combat as they have finished on 2nd, 3rd, and 4th spots. Wasim Khan is also of a similar view.
“There’s no fun, right, in just handing it over to Multan Sultans at the moment? Although they’ll probably be pushing for that. Our first point is to go for completion. If it can’t happen then as other leagues around the world have done is to then declare a winner,” he maintained.
