The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) despite reaching the playoffs and finals several times, have not managed a single title win of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Virat Kohli, for this reason, has been subjected to high criticism. People feel that it is the time for RCB to swipe their captains and the captaincy shall be granted to Aaron Finch.
Here are the reasons why RCB need to change their captain
His usage of bowlers:
Kohli, in the second game of his franchise that was played against the Kings XI Punjab (KXIP), did not utilize his bowlers efficiently. Washington Sundar, who is well-known for his bowling techniques in power-play, was called in 8th over. When he was going pretty fine with VChahal, he brought Umesh Yadav. The extra runs bounced here sliding the game from RCB to KXIP.
Sundar was brought back in 12th over and conceded only five runs but was diminished even after the best economy rate. On the other hand, Shivam Dube, who grabbed a massive wicket, was given only two overs. He conceded a total of ten runs in these two overs grabbing two wickets but was out of attack once again. RCB consistently has rotated their bowlers which have cost them several times.
The side still lacks the services of Chris Morris and choosing Philippe over Moeen Ali seems a bizarre decision. They need to solve some blunders at earliest as the team selection and batting order has collapsed many times.
Overall, Kohli is a good player but his captaincy has failed in IPL and in international cricket as well. The selection committee should be trying Aaron Finch instead of him as he has been the skipper of his national team in the short-format.
If they don’t think of swiping at the moment, they might face a similar fate over and over again. Hence, it is the right time to think of it.
