Head Coach of Central Punjab says, “Once PCB directs us, we will consider Salman Butt”

The head coach of the Central Punjab, the victorious team of Quaid-e-Azam trophy, Ijaz Junior has denounced that they will only be considering those players who will be receiving green signals from The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

When questioned about considering domestic performer, i.e. Salman Butt for the national level, Ijaz said that, once the board will instruct us to consider him, we surely will.

“I think such decisions depend on the PCB. I think if they instruct us anything about Butt’s future, we will definitely consider,” said Ijaz, who is a part of the national team’s selection committee headed by head-coach-cum-chief selector Misbah-ul-Haq.
“We are watching every player at a domestic level closely. We are in touch with Misbah. However, there are some instructions from the PCB about certain players, we consider players only on the green signal from the cricket board,” the head coach of CP added.

ICC shall stop all teams to play at a venue like India, says Miandad

It is to be highlighted that CPNJBs Salman has been the third highest run scorer throughout the league with 901 runs at an average of 75.08.

Whereas, the PCB have notified that all those players playing on domestic level shall be eligible for being selected in national team.

“PCB has a clear stance, players who are playing domestic cricket are eligible for the national team’s selection. The cricket board has clarified the situation and asked Ijaz about his statement regarding Butt and he said it was a slip of the tongue,” a PCB’s spokesperson told ARY Sports.
