MS Dhoni is known as one of the best finishers in the world but when it comes to the thirteenth season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), it seems like the sixth position to bat is not suiting him well. In the three matches played by CSK in IPL 2020, the skipper has failed to score big.
However, Dad’s army started their journey by an incredible win and proved that missing on a few veterans do no disturb them but lost the next two matches. Dhoni’s scores have been 0 (2), 29 (17), and 15 (12) respectively against the Mumbai Indians (MI), Rajasthan Royals (RR), and the Delhi Capitals (DC). Notably, Dhoni batted at the seventh spot against RR.
Consequently, Brett Lee believes that the veteran should think of his batting order as a skipper to bring momentum in his performance. Lee believes that his coming on last positions is disturbing the rest of the players.
Dhoni’s batting position is pressurizing others, says Brett Lee
“They have to start winning, they’ve got the right team but don’t think they’ve got the right position (for the players). I think the talk on Dhoni’s batting position is putting a lot of pressure on the entire team. He has to fix his batting position,” said Brett Lee as quoted by Hindustan Times.
