Pakistan's women cricket team captain, Bismah Maroof became first Pakistani lady to score 2000 runs in women's T20Is

Karachi: Bismah Maroof, Pakistan’s women cricket team captain, reached the milestone of becoming first to score 2000 runs in women’s T20Is on Saturday.

Bismah achieved the milestone in first T20 between Pakistan and Bangladesh. She scorer 34 of 29 balls which became the reason for team Pakistan to win. She reached this milestone with a superb stroke towards fence for four runs off right-arm medium pacer Panna Gosh in 6th over of Pakistan’s innings.

After Indian duo of Mithali Raj and Harmanpreet Kaur, Bismah is the third from entire Asia to reach this remarkable feat. In women’s T20I rankings, she is on the 8th place with 2023 runs in 95 innings among leading runs scorer of all times. Whereas, the list is lead by New Zealand’s Suzie Bats with 3100 runs.

She has remained tremendous throughout 2019 calendar year. Interestingly, among both (men and women), Bismah Maroof has became second to do so. Meanwhile, first is Shoaib Malik who has scored 2251 runs in 103 innings.
