Babar Azam storms up into latest ICC Test rankings

Monday’s ranking update has something to cheer about for home players as the tie between Sri Lanka and Pakistan occured in the first Test match at Rawalpindi. Babar Azam has reached the milestone of being in Top 10 bastmen rankings of all formats of cricket along Kohli. He was already there as No.3 in ODIs and No.1 at T20s but, after the brilliant innings he played at last day of the match which caused tie among two teams, has led him to 9th rank from 13th in ICC test player (batsmen) rankings.

Along with Babar, who played an unbeaten knock of 120, Abid Ali knocking his century at Test debut has also came across the table. The opener after scoring 109* at his debut, has became the first man to score centuries at ODI and Test debuts. Impressively, Abid now possess 78th position on the table after his tremendous knock.

However when it comes to the rankings of ICC Test Championship distributed among the teams, Australia are on 216 points in the points table led by India while New Zealand remain on 60. Pakistan and Sri Lanka got 20 points each for the draw. Sri Lanka are on 80 points, having drawn a preceding two-match series against New Zealand to get 60 points, while Pakistan have their first points after having lost both Tests of their recent series in Australia.
